Abnel Gomez

NOC/SOC Analyst

As a skilled NOC/SOC Analyst, Abnel Gomez provides UT’s clients with exceptional IT support and guidance.

He holds numerous certifications, including Cisco CCNA and CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Project+, and possesses both deep domain knowledge and solid overall IT skills.

Before joining UT, Abnel, a Cybersecurity major at Broward College, managed IT systems for a wide variety of clients across all sectors and industries.

Jorge Daniel Rivera Cuellar

Data Center Architect

Jorge Daniel Rivera Cuellar is responsible for designing and implementing storage and server solutions aligned with SLAs, and he also configures, maintains, and troubleshoots SAN storage systems. He provides our clients with technical guidance; creates needed system documentation, including architecture diagrams and flowcharts; implements backup solutions; and fixes vulnerabilities.

A data center specialist with more than a decade of experience, he holds numerous professional certifications from Veeam, HPE, and Microsoft. He is adept at working with stakeholders and teams from all backgrounds and cultures and is known for his ability to convey complex information in concise and understandable terms, thanks to his fluency in multiple languages.

Rivera earned his undergraduate degree in systems engineering from Bolivia’s Universidad Tecnológica Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, and before joining UT, he served as a project and support engineer for Dima, a highly regarded Bolivian-based consultancy, where he collaborated with major national companies such as Schlumberger, YPFB, Repsol, British Gas Bolivia, BBVA Previsión AFP, and TELECEL.

Angela Johnson

Account Manager

As an account manager at UT since 2022, Angela Johnson ensures that her clients’ needs are fulfilled effectively, cost-efficiently, and expeditiously. Her focus on service and relationship-building have helped make UT a trusted tech partner to organizations in every sector.
Angela holds multiple certifications from Cisco and HPE, and she earned her undergraduate degree in business from Florida’s Stetson University. She also holds a master’s degree in international business from Nova Southeastern University, a highly regarded private research institution in Florida.

In a career spanning more than three decades, before joining UT she worked as a brand manager at Procter & Gamble, as well as an account manager at such companies as C&W Communications, Digicel Jamaica, and Any3Connect. Concurrently, she has been a valued consultant to major brands throughout the Caribbean and has taught business at the University of the West Indies.

In her scarce free time, Angela is active in her community, with a special dedication to working with disadvantaged children. When she’s not taking care of her clients and community, she takes care of herself by working out at a gym with a trainer.

Ernesto Kling

VP Advanced Technologies

As the Vice President of Data Center and Cloud services at UT, Ernesto King combines his communication skills and business mindset with a deep well of technical knowledge to meet client needs. 

He brings to every interaction an affinity for simplifying complex topics; the ability to make sound, data-driven decisions; a knowledge of the global and regional markets; a passion for managing and maximizing resources; and a robust understanding of the tech ecosystem. 

Before joining UT, he worked for Citrix, serving in various capacities, including enterprise and commercial sales manager for the Central America and Caribbean regions, and Sr. Systems Engineer for North Latin America. Ernesto holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto. Additionally, he recently earned an MBA, with honors, from the highly regarded International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland.

Charl Myburgh

Chief Financial Officer Senior VP

A financial professional with almost three decades of experience, Charl Myburgh has been UT’s CFO and Senior VP since 2019.  His dual focus on stewardship and strategy ensures that UT upholds the highest professional standards while effectively serving its clients.

Charl’s extensive background in accounting is bolstered by a deep technical knowledge base that spans financial system integrations, business process improvements, and the implementation of internal controls.

Prior to joining UT, Charl accumulated 23 years of experience at Swire Properties, a prominent Hong Kong-based firm, where he held roles as Controller and Director of Technology. His career also includes a foundational stint as an Auditor with Deloitte, a global multinational firm. Charl earned his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, passed the CPA exam, and has furthered his education through an Advanced Management Program at the European Institute of Business Administration, INSEAD, in Fontainebleau, France.

Robert Lopez

Lizardo L. Rivera Melendez

Senior Consultant

Lizardo L. Rivera Melendez is dedicated to providing UT’s clients with guidance that meets the highest professional standards. He brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience to bear on that mission.

He has deep knowledge of Telephony and Unified Collaboration, with special strengths in VoIP
and Unified Communications within the Call Center and Hospitality industries. He holds a variety of certifications, including Nupoint Unified Messaging, MiVoice Business, and Cisco CCNA.

Before joining UT, he held positions with PRTC and Cortelco, where he was responsible for the installation, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of Mitel and Nortel platforms.

Conrad Britton

Senior Network and Security Consultant

With more than 20 years of experience in Information Technology, Conrad Britton designs, implements, and supports a wide variety of IT solutions for our clients.

His areas of expertise include Microsoft Server Systems, VMware, IP Telephony, IP Networking Routing and Switching, Wireless Networking and Network Security.

Conrad has held roles as Lead Solution Architect, Network Technical Lead, Systems Engineer, and Systems Consultant, and his CV includes stints at such highly regarded companies as Management Control Systems Limited, Fujitsu America, and Kirk iSS. He holds a B.Sc. in Electronics and Physics from the University of the West Indies.

Matviy Byelykh

Senior Consultant

Matviy Byelykh is an instrumental member of the UT team and is involved in various aspects and phases of architecting, designing, and implementing solutions in cloud native, hybrid, and multi-cloud infrastructure.

His areas of expertise include Microsoft Azure and M365 suite, as well as Windows Server Architecture, Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange; he holds multiple certifications and credentials, including Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Azure Solutions Architect, and Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert.

Matviy holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Applied Mathematics from Lviv Polytechnic National University, in Ukraine. Before joining UT, he held IT positions ranging from Support Analyst to Infrastructure Manager in a wide variety of industries, including healthcare, government, retail, and banking.

Andre Nesbitt

NOC Manager

André Nesbitt is a seasoned manager of Network Operations Centers, dedicated to ensuring that they run in a safe, smooth, optimal manner. 

Over the course of his career, which spans more than 20 years, he has administered Microsoft Windows Server Architecture, Active Directory, Windows NPS/ RADIUS Server, Exchange, Cisco Routing, Switching & Security and VMware environments. He holds multiple certifications, including Cisco Network Associate Routing and Switching, Cisco Network Associate Security, and Meraki Network Associate. 

André has had a longtime affinity for technology, and he graduated with honors from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in  Electronic Engineering and Computer Technology. Before joining UT, he redesigned and administered one of the largest enterprise networks in his hometown of Freeport, Bahamas.

Donald Meza

Senior Network Engineer

Donald Meza ensures that UT clients’ computer systems and networks run smoothly by designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and implementing optimal solutions tailored to their needs.

His areas of expertise include IP Telephony, Collaboration, Routing and Switching, and Wireless, and he has made security solutions a special area of emphasis, working with such vendors as Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, HP, and Microsoft. His many certifications include CCIE 50490, CCIE Collaboration, CCPN Security, CCNP R&S, PCNSE, PANACE, CCSA & MCSA, and his

Donald holds a bachelor’s degree in Information System Security and brings a decade of practical, hands-on experience to UT.

Hao Deng

Senior Consultant IV

Hao Deng brings deep expertise in the networking and cybersecurity world and dedication to UT’s clients to bear in his work.

He holds dozens of certifications, including Cisco CCIE with Routing and Switching, Security, Service Provider, Data Center, Wireless, Collaboration and Storage Networking. Among his many others are Juniper JNCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, VMWare VCAP, Amazon AWS Solutions Architecture Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Checkpoint CCSE, ISC2 CISSP and CCSP, ISACA CISM and CDPSE, PMI PMP, and CWNP CWNE, HPE MASE, Fortinet FCP, Pure Storage FlashArray Architect Professional, Nutanix NCAP.

Hao earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications and a master’s degree in Computer Science. Before joining UT, he held posts at Qware Technology, a Cisco Gold Certified Partner; UTStarcom; Bell; and Alberta Health Services.

Gabriel Sanchez

Director of Managed Services

Gabriel Sanchez drives strategic direction and ensures that UT’s Managed Services processes run seamlessly and efficiently for the benefit of our clients.

With almost 30 years of experience in IT, he has developed specialized knowledge of Windows. Server Architecture and issue resolution, Active Directory, and VMware. He holds a wide variety of certifications, including MCP, CCNA, CNA, VMSP, and VMTSP.

Before joining UT, Gabriel, who attended Miami Dade College, held IT positions ranging from Systems Administrator to Systems Architect at some of South Florida’s largest private and public companies, including Brightstar and B/E Aerospace.

Mayra Angleró

Strategic Account Manager

Mayra Angleró is focused on building relationships, delivering cost-effective solutions, and business development in the Puerto Rican territory.

She has deep expertise in Telephony and Collaboration, with specializations in the Hospitality, Government, Healthcare, Insurance and Education industries.

Mayra brings more than 44 years of experience to UT, and her CV includes posts at the Puerto Rico Telephone Company, NEC, and Cortelco Systems, where she served as Sales Consultant, Project Manager and Senior Account Executive.

Andrew Duke

VP of Marketing and Inside Sales

Andrew Duke brings more than two decades of experience in management, operations, and marketing to his role at UT, where he has implemented a modernized marketing strategy and leveraged his strategic skills, talent for leadership, and a solid background in quality management systems to assemble a top team of contractors and specialists. Thanks to those efforts, he has won praise for his visionary use of social media, web, and email platforms to generate excitement about the company’s strengths and successes, both internally and externally.

Andrew holds dual master’s degrees in computer information systems and business administration from the University of Miami, a certification in digital marketing from Northwestern University, and a BBA in computer information systems. His educational background has enabled him to tailor his marketing practice to the technology sector and to work hand-in-hand with major IT Industry manufacturers and distributors to attain marketing goals.
Before joining UT as a VP, he worked with other important service-industry enterprises in similar capacities.

Orlando Clemente

EVP of Sales

Orlando Clemente is an achievement-oriented technical sales executive with more than two decades of experience in the field. As UT’s VP of Sales, he is fully focused on understanding the business needs, issues, strategies, and priorities of clients and partners, and to delivering value-added solutions to help them meet their goals.

Orlando, who is well-known for his work ethic and vision, holds numerous professional certifications, including Cisco Sales Expert, Cisco Sales Specialist for Unified Computing Technology, Cisco DCNI V2.0 Sales Specialist, Cisco Sales Specialist for Unified Fabric Technology, Cisco Advanced Collaboration Sales Specialist Representative, and Designing and Implementing Cisco Unified Communications on Unified Computing Systems. Additionally, he is a Palo Alto Networks Accredited Sales Expert and holds an associate’s degree in Computer Science from Keiser College.

Before joining UT, Orlando worked for AT&T as a Master Services Partner and later transitioned to a role in the company as Direct Account Manager for the National Business Market, offering a services-oriented approach to IT and Network Services. He subsequently became a Senior Account Manager at the company now known as Lumen, where he oversaw 10 enterprise accounts, including Fortune 500 companies. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country for four years.

Gerardo Bassett

VP Advanced Technologies

As a co-founder of UT and the VP of Advanced Technologies, Gerardo Bassett takes the lead in launching innovative services and products to help our clients meet their IT needs and grow their enterprises. The creator of UT’s MSP/MSSP programs, he also now heads our thriving Smart Buildings practice.

Although he has transitioned into an executive role, Gerardo proudly started his career as an engineer, and while working on the front lines of the field, he earned numerous certifications, including Microsoft Exchange Administrator, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Cisco Qualified Specialist, Cisco Certified Network Professional, and AWS Cloud Practitioner, to name just a few.

Before helping to launch UT, Gerardo worked as both a pre-sales and post-sales engineer and served as the Chief of Network Operations for Multiphone Latin America, a major interexchange carrier based in Miami. Additionally, in 2004 he founded his own consulting firm, IDAGEN, focused on helping small- to midsize businesses build and optimize all aspects of their IT operations.

Wallace Zeppenfeldt

VP & GM Of Puerto Rico

As a vice president and general manager at UT, Wallace Zeppenfeldt wears many hats: his duties span Administrative, Sales, and Technical, and his responsibilities include building relationships with clients and vendors, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of various IT solutions, and overseeing sales for service providers.

While working as a Sales Engineer for Mitel Networks’ Latin America and Caribbean markets, he focused on Cloud VoIP, Unified Communications, Call Centers, and Hospitality – areas of specialty for him – and he holds an extensive array of certifications, including many from Mitel, VMware, and Palo Alto Networks.

Wallace brings well over 30 years of experience in Management Consulting, Information Technology, and Unified Communications to UT, and in addition to his tenure at Mitel, his CV includes positions as Manager for Vila del Corral & Company and IT Manager for the Ochoa Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Universidad Interamericana – Recinto Metropolitano.

Rob Eyes

SVP of Business Development, English Caribbean

In his role at UT, Rob Eyers is dedicated to building long-term partnerships throughout the Cayman Islands and wider English-speaking Caribbean region and to helping clients enhance the profitability and efficiency of their businesses while also improving the quality of life for their staff.

With more than two decades of experience in the IT industry – and deep knowledge in the areas of Data Centre, Core Infrastructure, Cloud Computing, Managed Services and Telecommunications – he understands that trust and connection are paramount, and he has worked closely with many key technology decision makers and influencers in both the public and private sectors to build sustainable and equitable relationships. 

Rob holds an International Baccalaureate Diploma and a B.Sc. from the University of Columbia. Before joining UT, he had business development posts at Kirk iSS, where he played a key role in the strategic direction, growth, and overall success of the business; and Net(net), a fully technology-enabled consultancy specializing in full-service IT Investment Optimization.

Serafin Achurra

CIO and VP of Advanced Services

Serafin Achurra has more than three decades of Information Technology experience. In his roles at UT, he manages a team of world-class engineers, ensuring that customers’ needs in Security, Cloud, Compute, Storage, and Network are met optimally.

He has extensive knowledge in the areas of Enterprise Content Management, Merger Conversion Support, Virtual Desktop and Servers, Enterprise Backup, TelePresence and Video Conferencing, VOIP, Routing, Switching, Infrastructure Cabling, Field Services, and many other customer solutions.

Before joining UT, Serafin, who holds a BBA in Management Information Systems from Florida International University, held executive roles at major financial and technology institutions, including Union Planters Bank, Regions Financial Corporation, and Digital Connections, where his work included bank conversions, large hardware refresh projects, storage solutions, unified communications, video conferencing solutions, security solutions, and field services.

Anthony X. Silva

President & CEO

Anthony X. Silva is a senior entrepreneurial executive with a successful track record of building and maximizing individual and team performance in the information technology and communications industries. As the founding President and CEO of UT, he has been a high-energy, hands-on, results-oriented leader who oversees an operation fully dedicated to delivering exceptional service to clients in every sector.

Anthony’s expertise encompasses Vertical Solutions for the financial services, legal, and hospitality markets; Network Communications; System Architecture; Security; Unified Communications; Unified Computing; Digital Media Signage; and  Video Conferencing and Telepresence. He holds an undergraduate degree in International Studies and Marketing from the University of Miami and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University; he also completed a rigorous three-year MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s Program.

Before founding UT, Anthony held C-Suite positions at such companies as R2 Technology Services, a highly specialized, world-class infocomm solutions and managed services provider, and CSPI Technology Solutions, where – among other accomplishments – he led the Network Operations Center team through Cisco Master MSCP certification (with ITIL and ISO 27000-based best practices in place) and spearheaded a team that designed, negotiated, and successfully implemented one of the most advanced hospitality communications projects ever done worldwide.
